ok 1 piece of advice,
the new profs are not gonna be here till the new expansion means that this whole Ogre thing is Totally useless for quite a long while
poeple will keep on farming this and farming and farming
next thing u kno there is someone in tombs d1 saying Buying useless green for 1 k or less I'm dancing @ storage I dont accept Ogre slaying knife..
and then what.. ur knife is useless and everyone has 1
SELL IT NOW and get like maybe25 k and be happy if u want 1 w8 1/2 weeks and ull get 1 for alot less then what u sold 1 for today.

don't be silly, it's not dual-wield. the pic just shows my necro holding the knife and the -50hp offhand which has the same design. so it looks like it's a dual-wield weapon.
oh, and their life/energy stealing capabilities, more fantasies. just thinking how cool it would be if and only if ...

Guys the whole thing is a refernece to very popular video called "Summener Geeks". It is a short skit that pokes fun at D&D players. This item is nothing more than a cookie, though for GW collectors it defeintly holds value. If u have ever seen the video, one of the guys is like "I got a ogre slaying knife, it does +9 vs. ogres", and then the dungeon master is like"No, u are in a bar getting drunk!". It is quite funny. Notice the damage 1-4, in d&d a knife does 1d4 damage, which is the same. Furthermore, at one point the same guy screams "I'm attacking The Darkness", which is presily what you say when u ping the bosses at the end of Tombs. I would just like to say, that getting these items is not easy at all. 19/20 Pugs will fail, and they are in no way farmable like the SF items were, only hardcore farmers and Elite PvE guilds will be able to regularly farm these, therefore u will never see anything worthless come out of there, imo u should have sold that item for alot more. It is a collectors item, just like close to-max sickles that have sold for 100k and up.

thanks for the info miasma, sounds pretty hilarious!
i guess i've been a bit more fortunate with my tombs-uw runs. after two or three failed runs with various PUGs comprised of ppl who had supposedly done the run before and knew what to do, the next PUG i was in actually made it all the way to the end.
the good news is that the monsters are always the same on each level, although they increase in number the further you get. so once you know how to fight them, it's really just a matter of taking them on one or two groups at a time and progressing through the levels. this however, takes time. and that, to me, is what is going to keep these new greens at it's current value or close to it for a while yet (at least for Victo's axe, shield, and perhaps the sword). that first successful run took between 2 to 3 hours. i grouped some friends and guildies after that and together, we completed a run which also took 2 to 3 hours. to actually farm these items is going to take a great deal of time, and people will want to be compensated accordingly.
and unlike SF, these greens don't drop all along the way as the bosses in tombs-uw are only right at the end. so you have to make it to the end to have any chance of getting these greens.
of course, it might be easier to just hang around town posting WTB super awesome new green knife/fork/spoon (insert low offer) in various districts, then WTS super awesome new green knife/fork/spoon (insert high asking price).
